Psychological Evaluations
to learn more about how your child learns, thinks, and feels…
Every child is unique. Sometimes, however, children experience challenges with attention, learning, emotions, or behavior that leave parents wondering, "What's going on, and how can I help?"
The goal is not simply to identify a diagnosis. It is to understand how your child functions, what may be getting in the way, and what support will help them thrive. A better understanding of strengths and areas of difficulty, answers to questions about specific areas of functioning, and tailored recommendations are provided to help guide a path forward when your child or family feels stuck.
Comprehensive evaluations utilize standardized measures and an individualized assessment plan to explore the intricacies of how your mind, behaviors, and emotions work together and impact daily functioning. An assessment can clarify diagnoses, inform treatment planning, and support academic accommodations to turn this insight into action.
When to consider an Evaluation:
When you can see your child struggling, but you aren’t quite sure why, you might find yourself asking questions:
Why is my child struggling in school despite working hard?
Why does my child have trouble paying attention or staying focused?
Why does homework take so long?
Why is my child becoming increasingly frustrated or anxious about school?
Why has my child's behavior or mood changed?
Why is my child having such big feelings?
What are my child's strengths and areas of difficulty?
What type of support does my child need at home or at school?
What can we do to help our child thrive?
Evaluations We Offer
ADHD Evaluation
An ADHD evaluation can help determine whether difficulties with attention, impulse control, or executive functioning may be affecting your child's daily life. It may be important to distinguish ADHD from other factors that may contribute to presenting symptoms. This evaluation specifically includes the assessment of:
Cognitive Functioning
Academic Achievement
Sustained Attention
Learning and Memory
Executive Functioning
Questionnaires and Behavioral Observations completed by the child, parents, and teachers.
Our ADHD evaluation costs $3,385.
Learning Evaluation
A learning evaluation can help identify how your child learns best and whether a specific learning difficulty may be affecting academic performance. Determining difficulties specifically in reading, writing, or math can help to identify educational needs, support academic accommodations, and recommend interventions. This evaluation specifically includes the assessment of:
Cognitive Functioning
Academic Achievement
Specific exploration of an area of learning depending on your specified need (reading, writing, or math)
Executive Functioning Screening
Questionnaires and Behavioral Observations completed by the child, parents, and teachers
Our learning evaluation cost ranges in cost based on the area of need. A Dyslexia (reading) evaluation costs $3,125. A Dysgraphia (writing) evaluation costs $2,970. A Dyscalculia (math) evaluation costs $2,815.
Emotional Behavioral Evaluation
An emotional behavioral evaluation can help to better understand emotional or behavioral changes and determine what may be contributing to your child's difficulties. Concerns of mood, emotional regulation, and behavioral functioning may have significant impacts on relationships, sleep, academic performance, and daily living. An emotional behavioral evaluation can provide clarity on the root of these concerns and provide recommendations and support for working through these difficulties. This evaluation specifically includes:
Questionnaires and Behavioral Observations completed by the child, parents, and teachers
Semi-strucutred interviews to explore specific symptoms
Self-report test(s) of personality/mental health
Projective tests
Our mental health evaluation ranges from $2,770 to $2,980, depending on the age of the client.
School Admissions Testing
Some private and independent schools require cognitive or academic testing as part of the admissions process. We provide testing to help families meet these requirements and better understand their child's academic and cognitive strengths. Admissions testing may be appropriate if:
A school requires testing
You are applying to a private school
Your child's school has requested an evaluation
Your child is changing schools
You want updated information about your child's abilities
Tests we provide include: WPPSI-IV, WISC-V, WAIS-V, and WIAT-III
Our school admissions evaluation costs $520 for cognitive only and $985 for cognitive and academic.

Initial Inquiry and Consultation
Identifying Questions & Gathering Information
Once you decide to pursue an evaluation, we will work together to identify meaningful questions and what you hope to get out of this. We will collaborate and explore presenting concerns, relevant background information, medical history, and behavioral observations. This may include additional collateral interviews, classroom observation, and review of records.
This will include several 2-hour testing sessions individually with Dr. Wofford. Testing sessions may include standardized measures assessing cognitive functioning, academic performance, attention, executive functioning, learning and memory, emotional functioning, and other determined areas. Parents and teachers will also be asked to complete self-report measures of their observations of your child.
Testing Sessions
This phase may take up to 4 weeks of carefully integrating and interpreting testing data, history, and relevant information. This time allows us to consider the impacts of strengths, areas of growth, and other contributing factors to current presentation. There will likely be further collaboration throughout this phase.
Interpretation & Integration
Dr. Wofford aims to join you in understanding more about your child and the results of the assessment. We will discuss and explore the process of determining any possible diagnoses. We will answer any questions, engage in conversation about the conclusions and interpretations gathered, and provide tailored recommendations for your child and family.
You will be provided with a written report of the assessment at the time of feedback. As you continue to understand and process the assessment, Dr. Wofford will be available for continued support, as needed.
Personalized Feedback
Insight that leads to action
We believe assessment should be more than a series of tests or a list of scores. Our goal is to make the process collaborative, thoughtful, and meaningful, taking the time to understand each child as a whole person—their strengths, challenges, experiences, and unique needs. We strive to provide families with a clear understanding of the results and practical guidance for next steps, so that the evaluation becomes a useful roadmap for supporting your child at home, at school, and beyond.
